Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy is designed to help elders achieve function, meaning, and satisfaction in daily tasks and interactions. Elders participating in our occupational therapy program learn how to navigate daily tasks like getting dressed, bathing, feeding, home management, and participating in social settings. We create a holistic plan by first assessing:

  • Sensory condition

Speech Pathology

Speech-language pathologists focus on improving deficits in both speech and swallowing. They can help elders recovering from strokes or other injuries that affect speech and swallowing. Des Arc pathologists work one-on-one with elders using an interdisciplinary approach to help elders maximize communication through verbal, visual, and/or gestural means.
