Des Arc Nursing and Rehabilitation Center offers a diverse range of therapy modalities for rapid recovery so you or your loved one can get back to life with maximum mobility and comfort. Our therapy programs focus on pain relief, restoring function, improving mobility, and preventing or limiting physical and cognitive disabilities.

Physical Therapy
Every therapy program is led by a state-licensed physical therapist. The main goal of physical therapy is to restore strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Each elder receives a personal therapy plan based on a thorough evaluation. Physical therapy can help individuals recovering from:
- Fractured hips and other bones
- Osteoarthritis
- Joint pain
- Diabetes
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Alzheimer’s Disease
- Stroke
- Multiple Sclerosis
- And many other conditions

Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is designed to help elders achieve function, meaning, and satisfaction in daily tasks and interactions. Elders participating in our occupational therapy program learn how to navigate daily tasks like getting dressed, bathing, feeding, home management, and participating in social settings. We create a holistic plan by first assessing:
- Physical condition
- Cognitive condition
- Psychosocial condition
- Sensory condition

Speech Pathology
Speech-language pathologists focus on improving deficits in both speech and swallowing. They can help elders recovering from strokes or other injuries that affect speech and swallowing. Des Arc pathologists work one-on-one with elders using an interdisciplinary approach to help elders maximize communication through verbal, visual, and/or gestural means. Elders recovering from the following may need speech therapy:
- Brain injury
- Stroke
- Seizure
- Progressive diseases
- Cancer
- Other Injury
